Robin Elackatt: Leader with vision and integrity.
Missouri City, Texas residents elected Robin Elackatt to serve as Council Member District “C” on May 09, 2009 (57 percent of the popular vote in the City’s General Election), which many described as a “true grassroots victory. He was sworn into office May 18th of the same year. Unopposed in 2011 & 2013, Councilman Robin Elackatt was re-elected to continue serving Missouri City residents and he continues to work diligently to make the City a “Great” place to live, work & play.
Robin discovered his call to serve in his 20s, when he was elected President of the Chicago Knanaya Catholic Youth League (KCYL) in 1992-1994. He was also elected as the first President of Knanaya Catholic Youth League of North America (KCYLNA) in 1994-1995. Prior to being a Council Member, he served as the vice chairman and board member of the City’s Parks Board. He also served on the Colony Lakes Homeowner’s Association Board and was the past president of the Homeowner’s Association Board.
From the day he began serving as the Councilmember for District “C,” Robin has been a fierce advocate for many City initiatives, including the sidewalk repairs program, using his calm and methodical approach to balancing common sense, business acumen and service. He supports efforts to “Cut-and-Balance” the City’s budget, and contributed to adding a Police Mini-Station and Fire Stations to better serve the needs of residents.
Robin knows that there is much work to be done to make the City of Missouri City the best city in the nation; and he works tirelessly each day to contribute to this end. In his words, “The growing population in Missouri City and the need to improve public safety initiatives, develop sound infrastructure and serve as good stewards of the business of this great City are my top priorities as a member of the City Council.” He also added: “As we continue to be one of the ‘best places to live in the nation,’ we must continue to develop new businesses in the City, while creating a strong base and common-sense approach to balancing the needs of Missouri City residents and opportunities for growth.”
Council Member Elackatt and his wife Tina (Physician Assistant) are the proud parents of two wonderful young daughters.
