- Info:In August 2012, The City of Missouri City opened its doors by inviting residents to meet those in charge, ask questions and share their opinions. The brand new Missouri City Citizens University—a free 8-session program to be held one Thursday a month—gives an inside look on how local government works. These graduates had the opportunity to talk with those who build budgets, construct capital projects, plan for growth, help our City remain green, emphasize fitness first and keep neighborhoods safe. The curriculum includes presentations by City department heads at city facility locations including the Fire and Police departments, new Recreation and Tennis Center, traffic operations and the new City Centre at Quail Valley. Members of the class also held a Mock City Council meeting.
